This sauce recipe is for a rum syrup. This rum syrup recipe is used in other recipes such as rum babas.
Ingredients – as required | Preparation time 15 mins
- 250ml cold water
- 150g caster sugar
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 5 tablespoons rum
- Pour the water into a small clean saucepan, and add the sugar and lemon juice.
- Place on the hob over a low heat and heat gently until all the sugar has dissolved.
- Remove from the hob and stir in the rum. Allow the rum syrup to cool.
- Use your rum syrup when required.
