Beer batter

Ingredients – as required

  • 200g plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 300ml dark beer
  • Sea salt

Method

  1. Sieve the flour and baking powder into a large clean bowl and add salt to your personal taste.
  2. Using a whisk, slowly stir in the beer.  Continue to whisk until the beer batter becomes a smooth consistency.
  3. Allow the batter to stand for 40–45 minutes before use.
