Yorkshire pudding batter

This batter recipe shows how to make a Yorkshire pudding batter.  Once you have made this, you can make fantastic Yorkshire puddings

Ingredients – 6/8 puddings

  • 3 large eggs
  • 125g plain flour
  • 150ml milk
  • 25g beef suet
  • Sea salt / pepper


  1. Break the eggs into a large clean bowl.  Whisk them well to aerate — we need to get as much air into the mixture as possible.
  2. Carefully whisk in the milk.
  3. Sieve the flour into the bowl and mix to a smooth batter.  Always try to keep as much air as possible in the Yorkshire pudding mix.
  4. Add the beef suet, season with salt and pepper and give it one last mix before allowing the Yorkshire pudding mix to stand for about an hour before using.
