Stock syrup – goes great with melon
Ingredients – as required | Preparation time 10 mins
- 100g water
- 100g granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon clear honey
- 2 tablespoons Port
- 10g ginger
- Put the water, sugar and lemon juice into a small saucepan.
- Bring to a gentle boil and stir until the sugar has dissolved.
- Add the honey and ginger, remove from the heat and allow to cool.
- Add the port. Pour the stock syrup into an airtight jar, label and date and store the stock syrup in the fridge until required.
