Baby sweetcorn

This vegetable recipe is for baby corn.  Often referred to as baby sweet corn or baby sweetcorn, this is great served with stir fry dishes.



  1. Place the baby corns in a colander and wash well under cold running water.  Then, allow to drain.
  2. Place a small amount of water in a saucepan on the hob before bringing to the boil.  Then, add salt to taste and carefully add the baby corns.
  3. Bring the water back to the boil, turn down the heat and allow to simmer for about 15–20 minutes until the sweetcorn is cooked.
  4. When cooked, remove the baby sweetcorn from the heat and drain in a colander. Then, place in a warmed dish or on warmed plates before adding a knob of butter and serving.

Baby corns are a great little vegetable and are very easy and straightforward to cook.  Sweetcorn is very nice added to stir-frys to give extra shape and colour.
